Ecology

Threespot Damselfish inhabit inshore and offshore coral reefs. During the night, they can be found in caves. The species feeds algaes, but also sponges, eggs of molluscs and small gastropods.

Description

Attains a length of 3 to 4 inches. Adults display a gray body with a gold crescent above the eyes and a dark spot at the base of the pectoral fin. Juveniles exhibit a yellow body with a dark spot on the upper base of the tail and another on the fin.
