Distribution
Abundant to common South Florida, Bahamas, Caribbean. Most common on moderate to deep reefs.

All three morphotypes inhibit most reef environments and depths
Description
Colonies form smooth branches with embedded corallites. P. porites branches stout, irregular and stubby with blunt and often enlarged tips.When extended, polyps give branches a fuzzy appearance. Color ranges from beige to yellow, brown, tan, and gray.
