Description
The PADI Reef Fish Identification course is perfect for scuba divers who want to learn more about the amazing variety of fish they see underwater and volunteers who want to help monitor marine life. It teaches divers how to identify different fish families and species. You'll learn what marine species and populations can teach us about the overall health of the reef ecosystem, fish survey techniques and strategies, and methods conserve them and increase their numbers.
Upon completion you will earn your PADI Reef Fish Identification specialty, get more out of your dives by better understanding the underwater world around you, and have the training required to volunteer with us in Cozumel, or any marine species monitoring and restoration project in the Caribbean!
We run this course weekly, 9:30am to 3pm, Saturday to Monday. If you can't find a course that matches your availability, please contact us directly to see if we can accommodate you.
The reef is shallow with a maximum depth of 6m with easy shore swim-up access. Our meeting point is a short 10-minute taxi ride whether you are coming from Cozumel ferry terminal, downtown Cozumel or Puerto Maya cruise ship terminal.

Safety is the most important when diving or snorkeling. When the north winds are too strong, the Cozumel harbormaster closes the port to all underwater activities, cancelling your dive. If the dive is canceled, updates will be sent to participants via email or WhatsApp as soon as possible, with options provided to either reschedule your course or receive a refund.
