Description
The PADI Reef Fish Identification course is perfect for scuba divers who want to learn more about the amazing variety of fish they see underwater and volunteers who want to help monitor marine life. It teaches divers how to identify different fish families and species. You'll learn what marine species and populations can teach us about the overall health of the reef ecosystem, fish survey techniques and strategies, and methods to conserve them and increase their numbers.
Upon completion you will earn your PADI Reef Fish Identification specialty and get more out of your dives by knowing which fish and marine life species you're seeing. You will also gain the knowledge to volunteer in marine species monitoring with us in Cozumel or anywhere in the Caribbean.
This course includes a course manual that is emailed to students after booking so they can study in advance. It can also be used as a reference document to help identify corals on any future dives worldwide!
We run this course weekly, 10:30am to 2pm on Saturdays. If you can't find a course that matches your availability, please contact us directly to see if we can accommodate you.
The reef is shallow with a maximum depth of 6m with easy shore swim-up access. Our meeting point is a short 10-minute taxi ride whether you are coming from Cozumel ferry terminal, downtown Cozumel or Puerto Maya cruise ship terminal.
