Ecology

Adults inhabit in shallow rocky or coral reefs and in deeper seaward reefs, while Juveniles can be found in shallower coral reefs. The common depth from this species is 10 to 50 feet. Puddingwife feeds on molluscs, sea urchins, crustaceans and brittle stars.

Description

Adults have a greenish blue base color with darker scrawls on the head and a blue fin. Some of them have a with bar in the middle of the body. The base color from Juveniles is yellowish green to bluish green with some areas, which are yellow gold. Additionally, they have five white bars across the upper back. The regular size differs between 12 and 15 inches, but some reach a maximum of 18 inches.
