Ecology

They live on sand and rock bottoms. Including coral reefs. The maximum depth is 80 feet.

Description

Attains a length of 6 to 15 inches, occasionally reaching up to 18 inches. The body exhibits shades ranging from brown to tan, capable of darkening or lightening to blend with the background. Blue spots are present on the fins and head, with a notch in the upper head profile above the lips, and blue rosettes distributed across the body.
