Ecology
It can be found in clear water close to coral reefs, rocks, seagrass beds and gorgonians. It mainly feeds on other small fishes and shrimp.
Description
Measures 1.5 to 3 inches in length, with a long, slender body exhibiting three color variations: brown; blue-gray with a purple or yellow head; and pale or dark. Features include pale lines, small black spots, and a black streak on the upper jaw.
