Found in most reef environments. Most common between 4 and 6 m. Colonies are embedded in shallow areas.

Ecology
Description
The surface is lumpy and covered with small, tightly packed corallites, giving the colonies a porous appearance. They are usually yellow to greenish-yellow or yellow-brown, occasionally beige to gray. The polyps are usually spread out, giving the colonies a soft, fuzzy appearance. Colony size ranges from 15 to 60 cm.
